This got me thinking though, with flat panel LCD monitors and DVI connectors on video cards now, would it be possible to hook up a laptop screen with an interface similar to DVI to a DVI video card ? I'm thinking it's possible because the DVI connector is digital. Let me know if this will work.

We can't help (and won't look on our own) if we don't know what video card it came with. Odds are it was used in some other laptop and someone has had experiance with it. And we don't know what the max res on that card is. If this is an older modle (ie p100 range) then things might be as good as they get.
